Man Cave and all

Friday night the boys and I headed to Tyler to visit my best friend Jill. She has two boys as well and we love to get the boys together. Jill and I had time to catch up, share stories and listen to each other (ok so she listened to me this time). It is great to have a friend that you can be yourself, express all your feelings, share all your thoughts and she still loves me.. Thanks Jill for a great night, I needed it.
So, while we were catching up, the boys were having fun as well. Trey is the oldest then Jack, Travis and Mark. We are always amazed to see how the boys pair off. The older and younger of each family always hang out together. Even last night at bedtime Jack and Travis slept together and Mark and Trey slept together. The boys love being at Grand Bob's house where they ride go carts (Trey did not drive remember he wrecked last time) swim, shoot arrows, hunt frogs and just enjoy being 100% boys. This year the new addition is the man cave of course no girls are allowed in the man cave although we said in a few years the sign will say all girls allowed. Jill and I laughed at our boys and how much they enjoy being boys going from one activity to the next. On the way home Travis said I love my cousins.. I guess it's great to have such great friends you think that they are your cousins. WE love you guys can't wait for our next visit. Oh and no one got chicken pox, chiggers, had a wreck or got shot with an air soft gun... AHHH a good visit.

Ok so Baseball isn't OVER yet

This morning started with Travis asking what are we going to do today. Of course, the social director did not have anything planned which was quite disturbing to Travis so he he took matters into his own hands. While I was in the shower, Travis and Trey came up with a plan that we could go to the Frisco Roughriders game. Travis begged and even said we will be super good today if we can do something fun. Since we have not had enough baseball this summer they decided that we needed some more! Of course since Robert is out of town, I agreed to take the boys to the game. It was actually not even HOT at all. I was surprised. The boys throughly enjoyed the game and thanked me all the way home. We just brushed teeth and were headed to bed when Travis said "what are we doing tomorrow!" UGH!!!!

BASEBALL is finally OVER

At least for this week. Trey finished his tournament last night and they got second place. The game was a horrible loss but like Trey said at least we got second. As we were waking to the car in my mind I was thinking Yeah a break from baseball and just as that thought entered my mind Trey said "I guess it's time to start getting ready for fall Ball!" UGH hoping for a few dates without baseball. However, the TOUR is on so at least we have some sort of sports to watch at our house. Thank goodness for sports at the Shoemake HOUSE!

Travis the HANDY MAN

Ever since Travis was little he has always liked to do things with his hands. My dad sent Travis a real toolkit for his birthday and ever since he has been anxious to build something. We have seen the ads at Lowes several times for the building day but it never worked out to go. This summer we finally made it to Lowes and Travis was SOOO excited. The guy helping us noticed that Travis liked the projects and told us to come back later for previous projects. Travis was thrilled. The guy gave Travis 5 other kits and Travis made them all in a day. Now the projects are on the calendar, no chance we will miss another one.

Summer Fun

It seems every year I have big plans for summertime, however;it is now July and it seems all we have done is baseball.  Trey did get braces this summer much to his surprise. He seemed shocked to have to get braces since we already have had them once. I keep telling him he will appreciate us later. So here is a lovely picture of Trey getting the braces put on. As for Travis, he is always asking us what are we doing today.  I am praying for him to be very RICH as he will need to hire a personal assistant to plan daily activities.  This summer we have gone bowling, movies, swimming and Travis went to the coast but it never seems to be enough.

School starts sooner than we want it to but sometimes it's better to get back into a schedule. At least then when Travis say's what are we doing today I will have an answer.

We are Back

After a short vacation from blogging I am back.  I didn't really realize how much I missed sharing our lives with you all. Thanks so much for all the encouragement to get back on the blogging world.  So it is July and we are still doing baseball. Trey made the all star team again this year and is playing in another tournament this weekend. Nothing like baseball in Texas in July. Travis is doing well, still has the broken back. Yes still! We are hiding from the swine flu and hoping and praying for a mild flu season this fall. School starts back on Aug. 13th ugh and it seems we just got out of school.  I will blog soon as I have many pictures and stories to tell. Check back often.
